Predictions of the Future, From the Past

I came across a scanned copy of a Lady's Home Journal article from 1901 that talks about future predictions - what the world will be like in the year 2000.

Here's a summary of the predictions made in 1901 - see this jpeg for the full prediction details.

1. There will be 500 million people in the USA.
2. The average American will be 1 - 2 inches taller.
3. "C", "X" & "Q" will be abandoned from the alphabet because they are unnecessary.
4. Hot and cold air to heat/cool a house will come from spigots.
5. Mosquitoes and flies will be essentially extinct.
6. Foods will not be exposed to air prior to being sold and storekeepers who do expose them will be arrested.
7. Coal will not be used for heating or cooking. It will be scarce but not exhausted.
8. No more cars in cities.
9. Photographs will be telegraphed from any distance (same day publishing) and will be in color.
10. Trains will go 150 MPH.
11. Automobiles will be cheaper than horses.
12. Everyone will walk 10 miles. A man or woman that cannot walk 10 miles will be considered a weakling.
13. You will be able to travel from the USA to England in 2 days.
14. There will be airships.
15. There will be no more wild animals.
16. Telephones will be everywhere.
17. Grand Opera will be telephoned into private homes.
18. Store purchases will be made by "tube".
19. Strawberries will be as large as apples.
20. Roses will be as large as cabbage heads and come in many colors.

Some weird ones in there...
